Amish White Bread

I have tried so many bread and roll recipes...for the last 3 years this is one of the best.  It is just a little sweet....
and hot-out-of-the-oven with  homemade jam it is delicious!

Amish White Bread

(Recipe from Allrecipes.com  5 STAR with over 2600 reviews)

Ingredients:
2 cups warm water
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp active dry yeast

1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup vegtable oil
6 c bread flour (I usually use regular flour)

In large mixing bowl, disolve sugar in warm water; and then stir in yeast.  Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.

Then mix salt and oil into the yeast.  Mix in flour one cup at a time.  Knead dough on a lightly floured surface.  Place in well oiled bowl, and turn dough to coat.  Cover with a damp cloth.  Place in warm area and allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about an hour. (If you use a warming drawer, it can cut time in half...just make sure it is not too hot and starts cooking your dough!)

Punch dough down, knead for a few minutes, and divide in half.  Shape into loaves and place into two 9x5 inch bread pans.  Allow to rise 30 minutes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
